We’ve taken proactive steps and implemented guidelines and requirements to help support a safe and comfortable experience. Our team is constantly reviewing the Star Trek: Mission Chicago requirements. Please check this page often for the most up-to-date information.

ATTENDEE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Fans attending Star Trek: Mission Chicago are expected to comply with the health & safety requirements, including, but not limited to:

PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION OR NEGATIVE TEST FOR ATTENDEE FANS AGE 5+

Star Trek: Mission Chicago requires proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for entry for all attendee fans age 5+. Participants age 5+ are required to show proof of completion of full vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccine approved or authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or World Health Organization (WHO) or proof of a negative antigen or PCR COVID-19 test administered by a medical provider for admission. Please refer to our FAQ at the bottom of this page for details regarding our vaccination and testing requirements.

DAILY HEALTH MONITORING

Everyone at Star Trek: Mission Chicago, including our attending fans, must review and confirm they are able to comply with the Health & Safety Acknowledgement prior to entering Star Trek: Mission Chicago, including ensuring that they are not currently experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19. Anyone who is not feeling well or begins to experience symptoms at any time during Star Trek: Mission Chicago should leave the venue and contact and follow the guidance of their physician. No one is permitted at Star Trek: Mission Chicago who is not in full compliance with the health & safety requirements and the Health & Safety Acknowledgement.

SANITIZATION AND HYGIENE

Star Trek: Mission Chicago has worked closely with McCormick Place to implement cleaning and sanitization standards that meet or exceed the recommendations of the CDC. It is the responsibility of everyone to maintain personal hygiene, including washing your hands frequently.

FOLLOW ALL SIGNAGE AND DIRECTION FROM STAFF

Please adhere to all signage and direction from all staff and security. We have adjusted our layout and implemented exhibitor recommendations with the wellbeing of our guests in mind. Operational adjustments may occur throughout the event.

COMPLY WITH THE CODE OF CONDUCT

Please be aware of and respect the personal boundaries of your fellow participants so that everyone can enjoy their time at Star Trek: Mission Chicago.

FACE COVERINGS RECOMMENDED

We recommend that our participants follow CDC Guidelines regarding face coverings and maintain up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations. Wearing an appropriate face covering is strongly recommended for all participants while attending Star Trek: Mission Chicago and we ask that anyone who is not up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccinations wear a face covering at all times. Face coverings may be required per our guests' requests at specific autographing tables or for specific panels.

HEALTH & SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Please ensure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for travel to the United States and for travel to the city and state of the event.

Please be advised that a risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any event or public space, including the event. Prior to registering for and attending the event, please ensure you have read the latest CDC Guidelines for Prevention. By attending the event, you acknowledge this inherent risk on behalf of yourself and/or any Minor attending the event for which you serve as Guardian (collectively, “You”) and, as a condition of entering the event, You acknowledge, understand and confirm each of the following in accordance with applicable health guidelines:

  • That You will abide by all terms of admission and participation (as may be updated from time to time) and event health-and-safety requirements, including wearing an approved face covering at all times, and, where applicable, providing proof of compliance with any entry requirements;
  • That You are not currently experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19, as identified at CDC.gov, including, but not limited to:
    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing 
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • That prior to attending the event You have not been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms without completing a CDC-recommended quarantine; and
  • That You are not under any self-quarantine or isolation orders or subject to any CDC self-quarantine or isolation protocol.

For purposes of this acknowledgement, a “Minor” means any individual who under eighteen (18) years of age or has not reached the age of majority as defined by such individual’s jurisdiction of residence, and a “Guardian” means such Minor’s parent or legal guardian or other individual attending the Event who is over the age of eighteen (18) and acting in loco parentis for such Minor. Please see the event’s terms of participation to confirm the age requirements for entry.

Please do not enter the event or the event venue if You cannot confirm all of the above criteria. If at any point during Your time at the event You do not meet all of the above criteria, You will be required to isolate and may be relocated or asked to leave the venue at the sole discretion of event management.

Please note: The guidelines in this document are based on information currently available regarding the behavior and characteristics of the COVID-19 virus, public health information and local or state guidelines with respect to large gatherings. As more clarity with respect to these variables emerges, it is expected that these guidelines may need to be adjusted accordingly.

If you need to pick up your badges, Will Call is located in West Level 3, Hall F1. You will not be able to pick up your badges PRIOR to visiting the Vaccination & Negative Test Check Location. You must do that step first.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For Fully Vaccinated Fans: 

Star Trek: Mission Chicago will accept a healthcare-provider or government  issued vaccination card or approved mobile app to verify full vaccination.

For Fans Presenting Proof of a Negative COVID-19 Test:

Test documentation needs to be directly from the healthcare provider that performed the test and timestamped to show that it was administered no more than one (1) day prior to Star Trek: Mission Chicago entry. You can display your proof on your smartphone or present a physical copy. Self-reported negative test results that are not from a test provider, a laboratory, or a health care provider cannot be accepted. 

For Unpaid Badgeholders (exhibitors, media, press, talent, vendors, panelists, etc.): 

Negative COVID-19 tests will not be accepted. All Unpaid Badgeholders must present proof of full vaccination. 

At this time, “fully vaccinated” means that the day of your entry to STAR TREK: MISSION CHICAGO must be at least 14 days after completion of your primary series of an FDA or WHO approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine, such as:

  • second dose of a two dose COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), or
  • single dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine)

In accordance with CDC guidelines, booster shots are not required to be considered fully vaccinated, however, please note that the CDC recommends that people remain up to date with their vaccines, which includes additional doses for individuals who are immunocompromised or booster doses at regular time points. Please note that this remains subject to further update as CDC guidance is revised.

The following vaccines approved by the FDA or authorized by the FDA for emergency use*:

  • Pfizer (BioNTech)
  • Moderna
  • J&J (Jansen)

The following vaccines authorized by the WHO for emergency use*:

  • Oxford - AstraZeneca
  • Sinopharm – BBIBP
  • Sinovac
  • Covishield
  • Covaxin

The following vaccine used during a U.S. based clinical trial:

  • Novavax

RX and Star Trek: Mission Chicago will accept mixed COVID-19 vaccine schedules of WHO-authorized vaccines to establish full vaccination status.

*This list is current as of March 25, 2022 and may be revised in the future.

No, every single person must be present with their own ID and applicable vaccination verification materials (ie. physical vaccination card or digital proof) or proof of negative test.

Yes, attending fans who are not fully vaccinated can provide proof of a negative rapid antigen or PCR/NAAT COVID-19 test to enter Star Trek: Mission Chicago. The negative COVID-19 test must be timestamped to show that it was administered by a healthcare provider no more than one (1) day prior to Star Trek: Mission Chicago entry. Upon verification of your negative COVID-19 test you will receive a wristband to demonstrate that you have complied with the entry requirement. Negative test results will be reviewed and verified each day of entry and a new wristband issued.  Please note that individuals attending all three days of Star Trek: Mission Chicago will need to be tested more than once.

Self-reported negative test results that are not from a test provider, a laboratory, or a health care provider cannot be accepted. Negative test will not be accepted for admission of exhibitor representatives.

Attendee fans under age 5 are not required to show proof of vaccination or negative test for entry to Star Trek: Mission Chicago.  We recommend that our participants follow CDC Guidelines regarding face coverings. Wearing an appropriate face covering is strongly recommended for all participants while attending Star Trek Mission Chicago and we ask that anyone who is not up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccinations wear a face covering at all times.

Star Trek: Mission Chicago show management partners closely with McCormick Place, local, state, and federal health authorities to maintain a robust operational plan designed to maximize the health and safety of everyone. These include:

  • Full vaccination requirement for all exhibitors, staff and vendors
  • Strict sanitization and cleaning procedures
  • Hand sanitizing stations
  • Layout design and spaces to promote a safe experience
  • Exhibitor guidelines and booth design standards
  • Reduced contact transactions

Everyone in attendance at Star Trek: Mission Chicago is expected to fully comply with terms of service for participation, including all health and safety requirements. Acknowledging the  requirements and agreeing to comply is a condition of entry (See the Health & Safety Acknowledgement). Show management may remove, ban or revoke the badge without refund of anyone who fails to comply or impacts the safety or security of the Event, each in show management’s sole and absolute discretion.

If you have reason to believe you currently have COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19, you should not attend Star Trek: Mission Chicago and consult your physician, including if these conditions emerge while you are at the show. Please review our Health & Safety Acknowledgement each day prior to attending Star Trek: Mission Chicago to ensure you can comply with all of the requirements therein.
